Summer is over - let there be sunlight!
02nd October 2009

Whilst the once-touted UK 'barbecue' summer degenerated into what was largely a damp squib, the urge to point the lens down in the direction of yet another puddle for another one of those reflection-type shots was, fortunately, staunchly resisted. After all, I think I probably have enough of those already.
What can be relied upon in this country however, even if the weather is at times rubbish, is the glut of festivals and gigs - many of which are free(ish) - which spring up around that time of year.
Now apart from being highly enjoyable affairs and generally good wholesome all-round family entertainment, they provide some brilliant opportunities to photograph bands not normally seen in the area - or in unusual settings. There was Madness playing a concert in a shop back in May. More recently, there was the spectacle that was Julian Cope's band the Black Sheep at the Bristol Festival.

Besides these additions to the Live Artists section of this site, there are new images in the Coast, Structures and People gallerys, the latter of which may well soon feature a sub-category entitled 'Bearded People In Horizontal & Verticle Positions' at this rate.
Anyone who's visited this site before may have noticed a few other changes recently. One such improvement is that images of a much larger size can be viewed, so while all images I upload from now on will take advantage of this feature, I hope to also replace the earlier images with this new size.
